We have a problem. There are millions of unemployed youth and young adults in America today. One of the contributing factors is that many lack any useful computer skills. There is a vast potential workforce without the skills they need to thrive in a tech-centric economy. Oakland Graphics cares deeply about this issue. This is why we volunteer with outreach programs that bring training and job readiness resources to areas in need.

Basic computer training is provided as well as training to develop basic and advanced office skills. These services are provided to low-income individuals who have a desire to learn about computers and office software. Skills learned through the program will facilitate advancement or immediate entry into the job market.

We cover Windows operations, data entry, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. We also provide career and educational counseling so that each participant has a clear immediate and long-term game plan. In addition to the skills acquired, successful participants also get a reference that they can put on their job applications and resume.

All of us at Oakland Graphics are fortunate enough to have had great educational and career development opportunities. This is one of the ways we try to give back.
